Did you know that autism "conference" registration fees are tax-deductible medical expenses?
According to the IRS website: You may include expenses for admission and transportation to a medical conference relating to the chronic disease of yourself, your spouse, or your dependent (if the costs are primarily for and essential to the medical care). However, you may not deduct the costs for meals and lodging while attending the medical conference. So if you itemize your taxes, conference registration (and plane/taxi/car/parking expenses) are tax-deductible medical expenses, and will lower your tax bill if your medical expenses exceed 7.5% of your gross income.
